Friends of Our Lady of Peace (PTA)

Friends of Our Lady of Peace

Friends of OLOP is made up of a fantastic group of parents, carers and staff whose aim is to enhance and enrich the school experience of all pupils.

We organise exciting and fun events as well as supporting the school by contributing towards the cost of extra equipment and resources.

We strongly believe it is not just what the fundraising pays for that matters, but also the sense of community these events help to build and the memories they create for our children during their time at Our Lady of Peace School.

As parents, carers and staff we are all automatically members of Friends of OLOP and any help we receive makes a big difference.  Please don't be put off if you are not able to regularly attend meetings.

We hold a wide variety of events that need help from parents and we'd love your help! Selling doughnuts will only take half an hour once every term or helping on a stall for a couple of hours during the Summer and Christmas Fair means we can continue to deliver these events and activities for the children.

In the last year, our funds have paid for the refurbishment of a new picnic area in the Lower Key Stage playground as well as created a dedicated art room in Upper Key Stage. We have also funded resources such as Phonics books, geography equipment including atlases and globes for each year group and created a wonderful reading room in Lower Key Stage.

We organize lots of different events each year and our Summer & Christmas Fairs, Mothers and Father’s Day gift shops, Doughnut sales, Sponsored Easter Egg Throw and regular coffee mornings are a wonderful way of creating a lovely community feel.

We are also very lucky that we have access to a Wildlife area which was completely redeveloped during the Summer Holidays. It is now safe for the children to enter and lessons can be delivered in this area

We have been able to treat the children with Reindeer day where 2 reindeer visited the school for the day and all year groups came out to the playground to meet them and learn all about these gentle creatures. This year, we invited a farm to school before Christmas and the children were told the nativity story and had an opportunity to meet and stroke the animals. It is so lovely to see the children’s excited faces during days like these.

We would really welcome your help!
